2010 Horizon Report Trend & Topic

One trend I found particularly interesting was the one that stated "The technologies we use are increasingly cloud-based, and our notions of IT support are decentralized". Its kind of strange to see this as a new trend when you look at such things as email and social networking sites of days passed. The term "cloud-based" will cause some reluctance amongst technological adopters. At times, its almost best to never tell the adopter the specifics of the applications they use.

A technology that was particularly interesting was the topic that discussed Gesture Based Computing. This has always peaked my interest. The best visual depiction of this type of technology was in a movie a few years back called Minority Report. I believe this to be as pivotal in our future as it is described within the report. The ability to provide a natural interaction with a computer the way you would a human would help to increase our technological understanding and ultimately our ability to innovate more so than we have before.
